HAVE YOU BEEN STOPPED BY POLICE? SAY THESE!

LYRIC, "Learn Your Rights in Colorado" came up with these five things you can say if a police ever stops you or approaches you. These things can help keep you safe and make it clear you know your rights.

#1
AM I FREE TO LEAVE?
#5
I do not give you consent to you searching me or my things.
#4
I want a lawyer
#3
I want to remain silent
#2
I want my parent/
guardian/adult

DO NOT TALK TO THE POLICE.
PERIOD.

Police, detectives, and school resource officers will tell you that talking to them will "help your case," "help you," "get you home faster," and more. But the truth is it will not. Just don't talk to them. You will have the opportunity to talk with someone, but it should be your attorney.

No matter what your age, you have the RIGHT TO REMAIN SILENT!

Use it.
