Meet Nicole
Youth & Emerging Adulthood Defense Attorney and Advocate
Nelson Mandela said, "there is no keener revelation of a society's soul than the way in which it treats its children."

I believe this whole heartedly. I also believe that as attorneys, we have a lot to learn from community lead organizations, and a duty to serve communities, rather than assume what is needed. Therefore, my approach to defense and advocacy is holistic and participatory. This means I emphasize and center community and family voice, the voices of folks directly affected, in order to tell a youth's story.

In Colorado, Black and Brown youth are 7x more likely to be detained than white youth. Over 50% of Black and Brown youth nationally are transferred. We cannot treat our children this way, period. And my hope is through education, support, and direct legal advocacy, that our youth can be seen as the precious children they are.
